Conquered South America, our sixth continent!

To start the year 2016, I wanted to set foot in unfamiliar grounds.

Why not South America? A continent we have not been to. I thought of the beaches there and the a famous falls. Of the warm weather in January. And I thought of the falling Canadian dollar is still up compare to their currency. Those were excellent reasons to go to---Brazil!

Ipanema beach. Just less than 10 minutes by foot from our hotel.

Clouds all over Ipanema and Leblon beaches.

I checked Rio's weather before leaving Montréal and booked a full day tour on the first predicted sunny day. The weather website was quite accurate and we did enjoy our sight-seeing.

Foz do Iguaçu is the city that borders the Iguaçu Falls, and is only less than 2 hours flight from Rio de Janeiro. The falls is located on the borders of Argentina and Brazil and consist of 257 individual falls.

Here are some of the photos of the Iguaçu Falls, the highlight of our first South American trip.

We took a boat safari to get closer to this part of the falls. It was a wet but fun ride!

 Unforgettable place.

Breathtaking!

What a first taste of South America!

Hasta la vista!
